I did an assignment Sophmore year at PSU typesetting and printing misspelled and mispronounced words. I’ll call it an ode to my seventh grade boyfriend who wrote the word “proly” instead of probably in a love note. I find it interesting how we can still understand the meaning or intention of a mispronounced word and often don’t feel the need to correct it. The laziness of language is accepted in our culture, and to me, pretty funny. The idea has stuck with me over the years, so I made this poster on a whim.
Lavender, kidskin, oxfords from the early seventies by Shoe Biz. I was stoked when they came in the mail. Deer or the Doe played a show that night and of course I wore them. Unfortunately, when I walked off stage the lefty had started falling apart so I had to do a quick fix with duct tape. I was pretty pissed so I contacted the seller who says she’s going to pay for the repair. We’ll see eh?
